Continence management and advice
The Continence Management and Advice Service (CMAS) provides community-based management and advice.
The service may provide access to a continence product subsidy for people who:
- have ongoing continence conditions
- are financially disadvantaged
- are aged 16 years or older
Silver Chain provides these services. They can be contacted on 1300 787 055.
This scheme is coordinated jointly by WA Health and the Disability Services Commission (DSC).
Assessment
Referrals are accepted from individuals and professionals. If an individual is found to be eligible for services, clinical assessment by CMAS Continence Advisors is scheduled.
Complaints
Complaints or concerns with the CMAS need to be raised as early as possible, preferably with the CMAS service provider (Silver Chain). Concerns are addressed internally wherever possible. If clients are not happy with the outcome of these processes, complaints can be addressed externally by contacting the Department of Health on (08) 9222 4060.
